Our COVID-19 Data Dashboard is updated in real time with every new case. Families/students are reminded to assess their wellness each day prior to coming to school using the Updated Daily Symptom Checker linked here. If your child or you answer “yes” to any of the items in the daily symptom checklist, please remain home and contact District Health Coordinator Stacey Schakel at sschakel@mpspk12.org or 781-775-7605 to discuss the next steps.
Please send all changes to transportation plans and attendance to kccattendance@mpspk12.org or
call 508-539-1520
If you neglect to alert us ahead of time to your student dismissing early, bring your ID to the door to be checked.
Students go outside unless the temperature hits “feels like 20”. Please make sure coats, gloves and hats are brought to school. If there is snow, please pack boots (extra shoes and socks to change back into) and snow pants. Students should be able to put the attire on themselves (if possible!).
We highly recommend that all jackets, hats, gloves/mittens, scarves, boots are clearly labeled with your child’s first and last name in sharpie
“This week we celebrate and honor the work, life, and legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This national holiday isn't simply a day off but "a day on" to volunteer and give back to our communities and causes that matter to
each of us.”
-Teach for America
What a special day at the KC Coombs School on Monday, November 15, 2021. For the first time ever, the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal flag was raised alongside the American flag and the State flag. It was an amazing opportunity for us to acknowledge and celebrate the Mashpee Wampanoag people who have lived on and nurtured this land for thousands of years.
In addition, two beautiful book boxes (built by MMHS students with former teacher Anthony Chiuppi), were dedicated to two very special preschoolers: Bryson Hendricks and Okemos Brown, both Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal members. These boxes are to the side of the KCC main doors. They will not only help us to remember these wonderful children, but will reinforce the importance and joy of reading. Bryson and Okemos’ families attended this event and placed the plaques on the boxes. |
Drummers and dancers that performed for our children on Tuesday, November 16. |
The amazing moves, beautiful hand-crafted regalia and different dances were mesmerizing! |
This picture is a two-fer - it’s our own Chayton Lopes, dancing for the first time, and our own Mr. Randy drumming and singing! And the person in the picture below wearing the green regalia is Mr. Randy’s daughter. |
KCC would like to give a HUGE thank you to Cameron Greendeer, Darius Coombs, and all of the people that took the time to put this together. One student told one of the dancers, ‘I wish I was Wampanoag!’
