PBIS Lessons for Riding the Bus!
This week every kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grader were taught how to ride the school bus! Students practice by getting on and off the bus as well as learning about the proper way to sit. Students also reviewed the Falcon 5 Voice Check which will be used on all buses with KCC students.

Kindness Clubs!
Ms. Davis facilities a club focused on kindness! This week students made kindness bracelets. When Ms. Davis isn't running a club, she works in Ms. Swifts kindergarten class!

Parent Drop Off and Pick Up
Please make sure to follow all directions from staff members directing traffic (usually Mr. Prehna) and on the curb. Staff members directing traffic are clearly marked in traffic vests. These directions must be follow to allow a safe and efficient parent arrival and dismissal. The safety of children, staff and caregivers is crucial and we all must do our part.

What is a school council? A school council is a representative, school building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, community members and, at the secondary level, students, required to be established by each school pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 59C.

The goal of the council is to assist the principal with review of school/district policies and review new school initiatives with a focus on improved outcomes for students.   Click here to fill out this form if interested in being a member. More information in the link.

The Falcon Nest!

Throughout the year, staff members will be acknowledging and connecting with students as they follow the Falcon 5. As a way to mark these successful moments for students, staff members may give students “Falcon Eggs”  (shiny metallic coins) for them to contribute to a Falcon nest jar within their own classroom. Every other week, classrooms will empty their nests into a school wide nest.

Students have filled the nest twice so far this school year! Each time the nest is filled, the school will celebrate as a community. Last month, Thunder swooped down from his nest and visited every classroom to show pride in student success. This week, students in prek and K had a picnic outside and 1st/2nd graders got to pick their seat at lunch!

The focus of each celebration is centered around community and recognizing how we contribute to a great place to learn!
