Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe
Native Heritage Assembly

Three generations of the Pocknett/Strickland family and members of the Wampanoag tribe visited KCC PreK in honor of Native American Celebration month.
They do shows all across the Turtle Island (the world), and their performances are comprised of many different styles of dance such as the Grass, Jingle, Fancy Shawl, and Eastern Woodlands. Each style depicts a different story and all of their dancers have been dancing since birth.

No Cost COVID-19 Tests

Thanks to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), The Executive Office of Health and Human Services, the Department of Health, and Barnstable Public Schools for working with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to provide at-home COVID-19 tests at no cost to public school districts, including charter schools, approved special education schools, and collaboratives. These tests are intended for use by students and staff to support the return to school process after Thanksgiving and Winter breaks. We recommend tests be used no sooner than 24 hours prior to returning to school after these holiday breaks. Test kits are anticipated to arrive  for Mashpee students and staff 11/19/22 and will be distributed to all students to take home via backpack by their homeroom/classroom teachers Monday and Tuesday 11/21/22 and 11/22/22 and to staff in their mailboxes at their schools/primary work location by these dates.

Xavier from Ms. Fulone's PreK class was given special recognition for his special attention to kindness this week. Principal Goulart and Assistant Principal Prehna presented him with a kindness recognition certificate. Showing kindness is extremely important because it brings the world up! Thank you Xavier for building KCC up!
