School Vacation
Native American Heritage Month
All month long we celebrate and recognize indigenous people. Each day at KCC to honor the Wampanoag Community, we read biographies of Wampanoag men and women over the daily announcements. Linked here are the biographies being shared. On Tuesday, a Native American Heritage presentation was given by Cameron Greendeer and many professional dancers. At the presentation, students learned about the specific dances, regalia and watched professional dancers in their regalia.
KCC Before/After-School Clubs!
There are no clubs Tuesday, November 21st. Students will follow their original dismissal plans unless otherwise notified. Please feel free to make any changes using Pick-Up Patrol or calling the main office at (508) 539-1520.
Students in Dance Club held a recital for families after 8 weeks of practice! Thank you to Ms. Blackburn (KCC PreK Teacher), Rachel Blackburn (MMHS Junior), and Caroline Cotton (MMHS Junior) for teaching these Falcons so many great dance moves!
Staying Healthy Over the Holidays:
With the holiday season around the corner, now is a good time for families, students, and educators to get their COVID-19 and flu vaccinations if they have not already. More information is available on the Department of Public Health’s website.
Veterans Day
Last week, Ms. O'Keefe's class welcomed school committee member Mr. Davis to read to the class and answer questions about Veterans day from the kids. We then followed up with a Scholastic Let's Find Out donated to us by our generous PTO. Sounds like a connected community to me!
Book Fair Wrap-Up
WOW! What an incredible week of Book Fair festivities! The PTO wants to thank everyone for their support; from purchasing books, to volunteering, to attending our two family events- we are so beyond grateful to all of you! Our goal with the Book Fair is to bring the gift of reading into each and every home, while also supporting our school; one way we do this is by helping teachers fulfill their wish lists of books for their classroom. We are proud to share that we sold about 1,486 books, making this year an even bigger sales year than last year! And between parents purchasing books off of teachers’ wish lists and the money we brought in, we were able to stock every teacher’s bookshelf with the books they’ve chosen for their classroom! AMAZING! And while sales is an amazing thing to celebrate, we also want to celebrate the Book Fair being an event that really brings us together as a community. We enjoyed seeing so many families attend our Saturday “Books and Bites” Brunch and Thursday night’s Bingo. We hope you had as much fun as we did!
Firefighter Lenny Visits 2nd Grade

High Five Friday at KCC!
Thank you to the Air National Guard for coming and greeting students for High Five Friday! Students and staff were pumped and ready to learn with such an energized morning! Ms. Davis has been instrumental in the organization and outreach! Can't wait to see who gives high fives next!
