Bilingual Read Aloud

Our ELL department has reached out to multiple families to come read books in different languages. Today Ms. Diaz read a book in Spanish in Ms. Richmond's class. Mr. Gomes read to Ms. Amento's class in Portuguese. Mr. Rodrigues read a book in Portuguese and Mrs. Rodrigues read a book in Spanish to Ms. Cullum's class. Students then listened to each book in English.

“Rock Your Socks” day is Thursday, March 21st in all three of our schools. This is an international event that promotes wearing crazy, mismatched socks to celebrate the beauty of differences and promote Down Syndrome Awareness. All you need to do is wear your crazy, colorful socks to school, take pictures and tag them on social media using the hashtag #RockYourSocks and #DownSyndromeAwareness.

The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race

Iditarod Presentation sponsored by the KCC PTO:
Karen Land visited Grade 2 classes on Tuesday with all of her mushing gear, including her dogs! Students learned more about dog mushing and the Iditarod, and were very eager to contribute based on what they have been learning during Library class. Karen brought along a real dogsled which a few students were chosen to lead, along with a student musher to steer! At the end of the presentation, students were presented with their very own copy of Magic Tree House: Balto of the Blue Dawn. Thank you to the KCC PTO for making this amazing event possible, and providing students with a keepsake book to remember it for a lifetime.

PTO hosts International Game Night!

On Thursday evening, our incredible PTO sponsored our annual game night. This year games were from around the world and right here at home. Thank you to the PTO, KCC staff volunteers, MMHS student volunteers and Whale of a Time Parties for facilitating such a fun family evening! The PTO's next meeting will be held Tuesday April 2nd at 5:30 right here at KCC.
