Kindergarten Concert
Congratulations on a wonderful performance by our kindergartners led by Ms. C!

Pitter Patter Puppets!

On Wednesday morning, PreK students had an amazing time laughing and learning with Miss Mary Wilson of Pitter Patter Puppets who put on two puppet shows sponsored by the KCC PTO! The shows were engaging and enriching and included skills like rhyming, opposites, comprehension, and colors. All students had a turn to participate and everyone left smiling. Thank you Miss Mary and the KCC PTO!

Parent Pick Up and Buses
In the afternoon, please make sure to pull up and be off your cell phone when approaching the building. Large gaps between cars prevents buses from reaching the bus loop and drastically slows down dismissal. Please be attentive to all traffic laws and to staff directing traffic. We appreciate your patience and participation in this daily process.

Bilingual Read Aloud
Alejandra Liimatainen visited Mrs Blackburn's PreK class to read a story in Spanish. Afterwards, students learned the colors of the rainbow in Spanish!

Morning Announcements go Live!
Students at KCC are living our Portrait of a Graduate (Purposeful Collaborator & Communicator) each day with our new and improved morning announcements. Each day, classrooms sign into Google Meets to watch and listen to what is happening at KCC. Students read what is for lunch while others display visuals for students. Students on camera role model how to behave during the announcements and also show students how to perform our daily Calm Classroom breathing routines.

Virtual Author Visit!
This week students in second grade were treated to an author visit with Terry Lynn Johnson. She is the author of Sled Dog School, which students have been listening to during Library class. Ms. Johnson spoke with students about the writing process as well as dog sledding. She shared her “model” dogsled so students could see all of the parts. The questions from students were very impressive! We are so thankful to Ms. Johnson for sharing her time with us again this year.

Rock Your Socks!

On Thursday, we ROCKED OUR SOCKS at KCC to show support for World Down Syndrome Day!

Yearbook Time!

A message from the PTO!
Happy spring! Is it spring though? Gosh it’s been a cold few days. We have a few exciting announcements that we think will warm you up, though. Thank you to the generosity of several local businesses, the t-shirts our students will be wearing on the day of our Falcon Dance-Off are fully funded!! Some PTO funded excitement has been filling classrooms recently, including a visit from Pitter Patter Puppets. They put on an interactive puppet show for our Pre-K students this week, and it was a hit!

Our Multicultural Game Night took place this past Thursday. Thank you to all who attended and celebrated all of the amazing cultures that represent our school community. So many fun games and tasty treats!
