Friday, 10/6/23
On Friday, staff across the district will be engaged in their own learning to best serve your children. Though your children will not be in school, staff will be learning to best meet your children's needs.
Orange Shirt Day
On Friday, KCC students and staff participated in
Orange Shirt Day.
Parent Drop Off
Please make sure students are buckled and in car seats and secured while in moving vehicles. There have been many times students are arriving unbuckled, standing on the front seats and even out of the tops of sunroofs while in cars in the drop off loop. This is extremely dangerous and distracts drivers. When driving into KCC, please follow all traffic rules and regulations. Please continue to follow all directions from staff while dropping off and picking up.
Math Superheroes!
Students planned and designed a whole costume, a cape and a super symbol for their Math alter-egos. This goes along with the first unit in Reveal, which has the students identifying their strengths in math. All second graders made the capes and identified their own math strengths! Our mindsets are powerful and our children can do anything!
Picture Day!
KCC students and staff came with their biggest smiles this week!
Message from Nurse Stacey!
October is National Dental Hygiene Month. I would like to share these dental tips for a healthy smile: Brush at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. Remember that brushing regularly promotes a clean mouth and fresh breath. Floss every day. Visit your dentist regularly. Call the health office if you need assistance finding a local dental provider. Follow the suggested healthy snack guidelines from our Wellness Policy.
Polished Dental will be at KCC Oct. 12 for those students who signed up.
We will be starting vision/hearing/height and weight screenings for students in grades PK-2 in October. Please refer to the student handbook for additional information. If you do not want your child to participate in these annual screenings please send in a written note. Please continue to send in updated physical forms to the health office as they are completed.
